Northwood

I grew up in Philadelphia back in the 60's.  My parents moved to Doylestown when I was eight, in 1970.   My heart called back to Philadelphia in 1987.

When I returned it looked like my city had been in a war.  So many abandoned homes and the streets were littered with trash.  The neighborhoods that I once knew and loved were no more.

I moved to a lovely neighborhood in the northeast called Northwood.   I was drawn to this area for it's rich history and Victorian homes.  I enjoyed 10 wonderful years on Fillmore St. until we were forced out by urban blight and crime. The streets are now littered with trash and the crime rate has increased.

I want to get involved with improving the city I know and love.  I want to  plant more trees; our city needs more nature and parks.

Blessings, and thank you for all the work your doing!

Our Community Dreams
The Philadelphia People

By Patricia Pingitore

If we build a community of a healthy mind set, what a city this would be...

If we could take our dreams out into our community, what would we see....

Really make our life’s work a peaceful project of creating a thriving community, a socially active community, creating something that will sustain not just us, but the future generation that will follow us....

Let’s dare to imagine what has not been before us and we dare to see problems as steppingstones to a more dynamic solution...

Let’s us leave the ordinary to reach for an extraordinary community.

Let’s dare to literally rearrange the elements and see them and experience space and time in a new way and suddenly new possibilities open up before us.

Let us tap into our inner guidance that flows from our higher power.

Let us choose to be a part of this creative process. No longer allow your fears to rule your mind, tap into your creative imagination.

Our specific work, in a specific place and specific time; will appear as a natural out growth as we alien to what is best for our community.

Allow the unprocessed information in your mind to shine through; allow that life force to spiral through us and out into our neighborhoods.

The thrill in feeling this power and force creates better circumstances in all communities, but first it must begin with a positive state of mind from the people that live and work in this wonderful city.

Philadelphia is a great place to live and raise our children. Our avenues are a great place to shop.  Our schools are the best in the country. Our neighborhoods are safe and clean. Our leaders lead from the heart.
